Seamless membrane
Most leaks start at seams, overlaps, corners and fasteners. A liquid-applied membrane covers all of them without joints.
Manufactured in South Africa
Silkhan water-based liquid rubber goes on as a thick liquid and cures into a flexible, seamless, waterproof skin — bonded to your roof, balcony, masonry or concrete. No seams. No torches. No drama.
Roofs, basements, foundations, parapets — sealed against ponding water and weather.
A durable, elastic skin for metal, wood and concrete that flexes instead of cracking.
Interior and exterior acrylic paint formulated for South African conditions.
Why liquid rubber
Concrete and masonry are porous — water creeps in through microcracks, capillaries and joints. Silkhan penetrates surface irregularities, seals the pores and forms an elastic waterproof skin that moves with the building.
Most leaks start at seams, overlaps, corners and fasteners. A liquid-applied membrane covers all of them without joints.
Stays elastic after curing — stretches with the substrate, bridges hairline cracks, handles thermal cycling.
Bonds to concrete, brick, masonry, wood, metal and most existing coatings. Water can't creep underneath.
Built for intense sun, rain, wind and big temperature swings. Reflective finishes also reduce heat absorption.
Brushable, rollable or sprayable. Works on irregular shapes. No open flames, no torching, no specialist crew required.
Water-based formulation — lower VOCs, less smell, lower fire risk. Safer for homes, indoor work and occupied buildings.
Tolerates standing water far better than ordinary acrylic paints or basic sealers — important on flat roofs and decks.
If damage occurs, clean the surface and apply another coat directly. No removal of sheets or tiles required.
See it in action
Sometimes a 30-second clip says more than a page of copy. Watch how Silkhan goes on, flexes, and seals.
In the field
Sealing the join between parapet wall and corrugated sheeting — a classic leak point, eliminated in a single seamless coat.
Brick-to-metal junctions are notorious for failed flashing. Silkhan bridges both materials in one elastic skin.
Shower floors and wet rooms — applied beneath tile or as a final surface. Stops water before it ever reaches the slab.
Honest comparison
There's no silver bullet in waterproofing — performance depends on membrane thickness, surface preparation, UV exposure and curing conditions. But head-to-head, here's where Silkhan earns its keep.
| Traditional method | Where it falls short | Silkhan advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Bitumen sheets | Seams can fail | Seamless single coating |
| Cement waterproofing | Rigid — cracks with movement | Flexible elastic membrane |
| Tile grout sealing | Water still penetrates underneath | Full membrane protection |
| Standard acrylic paint | Limited elasticity | Better crack resistance |
| Torch-on membranes | Difficult, hot, hazardous install | Easier & safer application |
